Techniques related to individual and group counseling of chemical addictions clients; helping skills such as active listening, problem solving, paraphrasing; numerous role plays and other practicum exercises; information about group therapy with actual experience of being part of a group. Additional projects/assignments required for graduate credit.
Prereq: PSYC 101

15 graded assignments, 1 graded exam;
Students may submit as many assignments per week as desired; however, assignments and exams must be submitted consecutively, in the order outlined in the course. Before taking exams, students must wait for grades and feedback on assignments, which may take up to three weeks after the date of receipt by the instructor.


Credits earned for this course are included in a University of Idaho transcript.
