Turning Idaho Trees into Wreaths

University of Idaho Sandpoint Organic Agriculture Center, 10881 N Boyer Road in Sandpoint.

Wreaths provide a beautiful decoration for the winter season. Learn to make a fresh wreath using native evergreen boughs. Many of Idaho’s native evergreen trees provide the perfect material for creating evergreen wreaths. Jennifer Jensen, UI Extension Educator, will discuss several methods of making wreaths. She will demonstrate how to create a wreath using a box wreath frame and then assist you in making your own wreath. Supplies provided include a 12-inch wreath frame, wire, and a selection of native evergreen boughs. There may also be a selection of pinecones for decorations. Plan to bring any special bows or ornaments you wish to add as well as pruning shears and gloves.

To ensure an effective learning environment, this session is limited to 30 participants. Please register by November 15, 2024, to assure your place and help us plan. Identifying Idaho’s Trees . . . This wreath making workshop will be preceded by a morning workshop at the same site on identifying native Idaho trees.
