Class 2, The Science of Compost: Friday, September 11th - 10 AM-12 PM
Class 3, Composting Methods, Pt 1: Friday, September 18th - 10 AM-12 PM
Class 4, Composting Methods, Pt 2: Friday, September 25th - 10 AM-12 PM

Fee: $25/class or $85 for all four classes

There is nothing more spectacular than the magic of COMPOST! In this four-part series, you will learn hands-on backyard composting skills and the science of turning "yard waste" into "black gold". Each class will be taught by trained and knowledgeable University of Idaho Extension - Master Composters. Anyone with an interest in compost can apply! Each class will cover a different facet of composting, from soil and compost biology, to composting equipment, to building and maintaining a beautiful (and odor free!) compost pile. You'll gain hands-on skills including how to turn and aerate a pile, what to look for in good and bad compost, and much more in our Compost Demonstration area. Please Note: To become eligible for UI Master Composter Certification, you will need to attend all four classes and then complete 10 hours of additional hands-on practicum time the Compost Demonstration area with a Master Composter mentor.
