Quaking aspen is an Idaho native which quickly grows to around 40’. The limbs and trunk are smooth and white to light-green to gray in color. Its leaves are round and “quake” in the breeze and turn golden in autumn. Quaking aspen spread by seeds and root shoots and will form groves over time. They are hardy throughout Idaho and not too particular about soil as long as it is moist. Quaking aspen is the state tree of Utah
