Sugar maple is a large deciduous tree native to the northeastern United States. Used as an agricultural crop to produce maple sugar and maple syrup, its also used in many forms of wood-working. A great shade tree, it grows moderately fast to about 60-70' or more. The leaves produce bright fall colors of yellows, oranges and reds. This species will thrive on well-drained, loamy soils.
