This maple is a hybridization between red and silver maple. It is widely dispersed across the eastern United States and Canada. This wide range is due to its adaptability to different site conditions. This maple is cold hardy and shade tolerant and is widely used for its shade quality. Brilliant fall reds and oranges add enhance the landscape at the turn of the season. On good sites with adequate water, you could expect up to 24” inches of growth a year helping to establish your yard’s shade quicker than most similar hardwoods. This tree can currently be found through the landscaping and the trees of Moscow, ID and can adapt to clay soils prevalent in the area.
