Registering for an ISI course creates a financial obligation. Prior to enrolling, check with your adviser to make sure your chosen course will meet your needs. If you are a current University of Idaho student, you will need to complete the Course Approval form before your registration can be completed. The form is found on the Independent Study in Idaho website: http://www.uidaho.edu/academic-affairs/independent-study/forms

Courses dropped within 45 days of registration qualify for a refund. There are no refunds after 45 days, regardless of the student’s progress in the course. Administrative fees are nonrefundable.
Full Course Credit Fee Refund: The drop request must be received by the ISI office within 21 days from the registration date.
50 Percent Course Credit Fee Refund: The drop request must be received by the ISI office between 22 and 45 days from the registration date.
The course credit fee will be refunded minus $25 for each assignment/exam submitted. Refunds will be processed according to the original payment method. Cash payments will be refunded by check.

Exchanging Courses
• One exchange per registration is allowed.
• The exchange must be made within 45 days of registration.
• The course completion date will remain the same as the original registration.
• A nonrefundable $30 fee must be paid when exchanging a course, plus $25 for each assignment/exam submitted for the original course.
• If the new course carries more credit than the original course, or if the new course is graduate level, the student will be charged for any additional credits or differences in fees.
• If the new course carries less credit than the original course, or if the student is transferring from the graduate to undergraduate level, the difference will be refunded according to the refund schedule.
• Submit exchange requests online at www.uidaho.edu/isi, select Forms, Course Exchange Form.

Course Extensions
Extension fees are nonrefundable.
If offered by the course, you may purchase one four-month extension for $80 per course plus the $30 administrative fee. The course extension will begin one year from your original registration date. Requests must be made before your original course completion date.
